About I'll Be Waitin'
About I'll Be Waitin'
This CD took longer than expected because of the passing of my mother in March '10. We put everything on hold for awhile and my songwriting was on the back burner. Friends and family kept asking when the next CD was coming out, and now here it is. finally. poncho asked for a song about trains one day and I ended up writing several which are all including on this CD. Guess you could say we got on a train kick! My heart is gospel, but figured it would be nice to do some mix. For some reason, I had a hard time making a train song gospel, but overall, we put in alot of hard work and time, alot of decisions, but we are very proud of it and the final outcome.
I'll Be Waitin'...I told Poncho when he asked me to write a train song, "There's already million train songs ", and he said you can never have enough train songs in bluegrass., so I wrote this for poncho not really knowing it would end up the title song.
Next Train To Va....Another train song for Poncho. This song has become a favorite of many.
That Same Spirit...we have been singing this song for as long as we've been together, not really knowing the right title name for it. We really love this song so we got the title and auther and thought it would be a great upbeat tune for the ablum.
Love will see us through...I wrote this song for Poncho and I. Just a reminder that Love can conquer all, no matter what you may be going through. This has also become a favorite of many.
Pinebrook Breakdown...This tune TJ come up with. Pinebrook is actually the name of our street. It's a good one.
Troubles & Trains...I woke up one night about 3 am. In the still and quiet of the night I could hear the train in the next town rumblin' real low. I was still into writing train songs at the time and remembered my grandma telling me when I was young about hearing trains when the air was clear and it's just about to rain you could hear it far away....and again, another train song was born.
Blessed is He...I dont' remember the reason behind this song...It was actually written about 4-5 years ago. This was kept back in my song book and brought it out one day just messin' around. Poncho really liked it and said hey we should sing that for people sometime, now it's a regular on our set list when we go play.
Cold December....TJ and I were sittin' around one cold snowy day. He was out of school. And we came up with this song just sittin' around the living room jamin'. I really didn't like this song at first that much to be quite honest, but the band loved playing this song so much, it ended up being on this album.
American Dream...Mr. B came over to the house one day and we picked a little music just for fun. He brought the words and sang this song for us. Poncho loved it so much and thought this would be a nice addition to our album as well as our set list. Yes, Mr.B and Mrs. B can write a few songs too.
Angelina Baker...You need a good ol' bluegrass traditional song sometimes, so thought it would be nice also to add this to our album. It's a great song done by many great musicians and an old time favorite.
Thanks for your time and hope you enjoy and are blessed by this album. Sherry
