About Down from Heaven
The songs on this album I wrote all from life experiences. This CD is unique, created with my own style and sound. It took much prayer, time, consideration and work to pick just the right songs for this album. I have alot of songs now, some you use, some you don't. But God has really used this CD. You don't really know how people will respond to something that you have created yourself, but I'm amazed at how much people like it and how it has made it's way around the country and even out of the country!
Down from Heaven". I was reading in 1 Peter CH. 2 one night, when I turned the page, the three words down- from- heaven was the first words I read all with double spaces between them. God then spoke to me, I pondered on just those three words, the next day, this song was completed. It reminds me of all the blessings and love God has brought down to us.
"The Lord is my shepherd" is special to me because I wrote this song for my Uncle Burleys funeral. And a year later when my grandma passed, I sang it for her funeral as well. This song holds alot of meaning to me and I think of them everytime I sing it.
"Angels Watchin'" has become a favorite of many. This song was written to help remind me of God's protection and that God is always taking care of me and is always watchin'. I found that to be very true after a terrible car accident I was in that could have easily took my life back in '05.
"Through the Holy Spirit" was written after my dearest friend Bob was in a fatal accident in Colorado that nearly took his life. And he lives today because of the faithful prayers of those who love him.
"Mama's Hands" was written for our pastors wifes mother. I sang it for her funeral. This is also a favorite of many as well and can be a song for all who has lost their mother.
"Thank God He's alive" was written specially for Easter time, but is a good one for anytime.
"Just Praise His Name" this song was written when things were not going so well in my life. God reminded me that if you keep your focus on Him, praise Him in all circumstances, all will be well with your soul.
"Just Passing thru this valley" was written to inspire and encourage people that the trails we face today are only temporary.
"To Heaven". My sister in law Ruby, suggested to me one day "Hey, we need more songs about heaven", just a few days later....this song was created.
"Rockin' the boat" was created by T.J. and Poncho sittin' around the house one day just jammin' and came up with this upbeat tune that's not only fun to listen to, but fun to play as well.
Thanks so much for your time and hope you enjoy and are blessed by this album.
